Milwaukee 11 in 1 Multi-Tip Screwdriver (48-22-2113)

Milwaukee has recently introduced a range of contractor quality hand tools, one of which is an 11 in 1 Multi-Tip Screwdriver (48-22-2113).

The '11 in 1' refers to the 11 different tasks that the screwdriver can accomplish - 3 nut drivers, 6 screwdriver bits, a wire stripper and a wire bender for 12 gauge wire. 'Multi-tip' refers to the 6 different driver tips at your disposal.

There is a removable hollow shank that snaps into the handle of the screwdriver. On one end of the shank is a 5/16" nut driver, on the other end a 3/8" nut driver. A double ended ECX™ bit fits into the 5/16" nut driver. ECX bits are a new design for specialty screw heads found in electrical boxes, conduit couplers, and electrical outlets. A boon for electricians, but somewhat superfluous for other trades people. Unfortunately, at this time Milwaukee doesn't offer any replacement bits (Torx, Robertson, etc).

A smaller, 1-3/4" hollow shank fits into the 3/8" end of the main shank. The smaller shank has a 1/4" nut driver on either end, and houses double ended bits - a #1 Phillips and 3/16" slotted bit and a #2 Phillips and 1/4" slotted bit. Milwaukee has chosen to use ball detents to hold the driver bits in place, rather than magnets. This is unfortunate, as it limits the kind of replacement bits you can use with this screwdriver.

The wire stripper works very well. Simply press the wire against the cutter and turn the wire 360°. The cutter makes a clean cut and the waste end is easily pulled off the wire. The bending hold works equally well.

Quick and easy

The 11 in 1 is a well balanced tool with a comfortable handle, and electricians will undoubtedly find it a convenient, practical tool to have on hand. If you don't use ECX screw heads then you'll likely want to look at a different screwdriver.
