WEST CHESTER, Pa. January 2012 – Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, introduces the ASR 35, a heavy duty vacuum that features automatic electromagnetic vibration filter cleaning.

This unique filter cleaning system keeps the vacuum running at peak performance for increased productivity, since it does not need to be shut down for filter cleaning. The ASR 35 wet /dry vac is especially suited for job sites where the collection of fine concrete dust created from grinding or cutting is needed. It works equally as well in the shop collecting large volumes of debris or non-flammable liquids.

Standard surface prep kits, like Metabo’s 5" and 7" kits, can be used with the ASR 35 to help protect the worker against harmful silica dust. This quiet operation vacuum has a power takeoff that allows the user to plug a power tool directly to the vacuum, eliminating the need for an extension cord and providing the ability to power up the vacuum by simply turning on the tool. The vacuum then runs for seven seconds after the tool is shut off to clear its hose of debris preventing clogs.

A suction power regulator protects the vacuum’s electrical circuit from overloading and tripping circuit breakers or blowing fuses when used in conjunction with an attached power tool.

The ASR 35 generates an airflow rate of 130 CFM (cubic feet per minute) and a maximum vacuum pressure of 248 mBar (millibar) for maximum suction. It has a total filter surface of 1,333 square inches. This heavy duty vacuum has a 9-gallon capacity that allows for longer intervals between unit cleanings. Optional fleece pre-filter bags are available.

Weighing 39 lbs, the ASR 35 has a stable design that includes extra large rear wheel and front swivel canisters. It comes with a 1 1/2" x 14 ft suction hose as well as a PE (polyethylene) collection bag and two easy-change pleated polyester filters.

The ASR 35 is also available in a HEPA version for toxic dust applications.
