FEIN MultiMaster

Greater mobility with the same performance and versatility

Mississauga, ON. January 2012 - Mississauga, December 2011. The FEIN MultiMaster, the world's first system using oscillation technology for interior construction and renovation, is now also available in a cordless version. The oscillating power tool with 14.4 Volt lithium-ion batteries has the same performance and versatility as the well-known corded tool and weighs only 3.7 lbs. (1.7 kg) with battery. So now trade professionals can make use of all the advantages of the FEIN MultiMaster, even on jobs without access to electrical power.

Premium quality lithium-ion batteries
The performance and service life of a power tool are primarily determined by the high quality of the materials and their processing. FEIN has not reduced its high requirements for quality and performance with the cordless version: the 14.4 Volt lithium-ion batteries were specially developed for the FEIN MultiMaster Cordless. An extraordinarily high charge capacity of 3,000 milliamps is achieved by eight cells, arranged in two rows. That makes the FEIN batteries among the highest performing in their market segment. A capacity indicator built into the battery shows the current charge level and the charging process is controlled by FEIN individual cell monitoring. This effectively protects the battery cells from overloading, overheating and deep discharge, and ensures very long-lived and durable batteries. The lithium-ion batteries are fully charged in approximately 45 minutes. The price includes a rapid charger and two batteries.

Rapid work progress and long service life
The FEIN MultiMaster Cordless operates with up to 18,000 oscillations per minute and a range of 2 x 1.6 degrees. The electronic speed control and powerful electric motor ensure that the oscillation frequency remains constant, even under load. Even on the toughest jobs, the FEIN MultiMaster Cordless exhibits the same rapid work progress as the corded tool. All gearbox components are manufactured in metal. The high-performance electric motor has double ball bearings. This FEIN premium quality, developed and manufactured in Germany, guarantees a long service life for the power tool, even under the toughest conditions.

FEIN MultiMaster: the Original
More than 40 years of experience in the manufacture of oscillating power tools is built into the FEIN MultiMaster. In 1967 FEIN invented an oscillating plaster cast saw for use in the medical field. FEIN recognized the potential of the tool and, on the basis of oscillation technology, developed the triangular sander - ancestor of the MultiMaster - that was patented in 1986. Suddenly, work pieces that previously had to be processed by hand could be sanded mechanically. In addition to sanding, the oscillating motion of the FEIN MultiMaster – the universal system for interior construction and renovation – makes a wide range of applications possible; sawing, cutting, separating, filing, scraping, polishing and more. Today it is used for renovation of windows and doors, interior construction, furniture installation, tile and plumbing work, floor laying, auto repair, boat maintenance, in the workshop and for model building. Changing from one application to another is fast and convenient, as the QuickIN system developed and patented by FEIN, functions without tools. The patented eight-point tool mount is also an exclusive FEIN feature. With FEIN original accessories, the transfer of the oscillating motion between tool and accessory is optimal and ensures particularly rapid work progress.

FEIN original accessories for over 100 applications
So far, FEIN has developed MultiMaster accessories for well over one hundred applications. Many accessories are patented and only available for the MultiMaster. They include the
4½” diameter circular sanding disc that allows larger-sized surfaces to be sanded quickly and economically, the 2-9/16” wide E-CUT saw blade, the table and drill press support, and the Profile Sanding Kit.
